Building Professional Lives Through the Art of DanceBDC’s curriculum is separated into three different categories; The Children’s Division, Student/Professional Division, and The Teen/Adult Program. In addition to our ballet curriculum, we also offer additional classes such as Mommy and Me, Circuit Training, and Belly Dancing.
Children’s Division The Children’s Program is based on graded curriculum applying appropriate instruction for age and physical development of the student. A once-per-week class of Pre-Primary prepares students for classical ballet training by exploring music, rhythm and movement (Ages 3 and up). Students learn the basics of dance, beginning tap, and tumbling. Pre-Ballet, and Ballet Levels 1, 2, and 3, starting at age 7 and up, introduce students to classical ballet. Beginning tap corresponds to the above ballet levels and basic tap up through the Rhythm Time Step. Student/Professional Division Levels 3, 4, and 5, offer students the opportunity to develop their dance technique. In addition to these classes students are encouraged to enroll in Pointe, Jazz, Modern, and Tap to complement their overall training. Students who wish to pursue a higher level of technique are encouraged to enroll in two to three ballet classes. Students may enroll in Pointe at age eleven provided they meet the physical requirements. Pas de deux experience is offered to Ballet Level 6 students and Company Members. Teen/Adult Program The Teen and Adult Program at Bremerton Dance Center is designed for the student who wishes to pursue dance for personal expression, health, recreation, or as an avocation providing a social outlet. The school provides a varied curriculum while maintaining superior quality of instruction sufficient for the continuing dancer. Students may enroll according to interest and ability. Classes include levels of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop and Tap. Mommy and Me Mommy and Me is a great introduction to ballet with the comfort of mommy, daddy, or caretaker present. This class offers an environment that will enhance early creative movement, develop coordination, play with music and rhythms, counting and timing, and self-confidence. (Ages 18 months - 3 years) Belly Dancing Belly Dance Basics: This class is designed for all students no matter your dance style or skill level; accommodations include physical limitations. In Belly Dance Basics, we will breakdown movements and techniques, all of which are fundamental to the dance, executing each movement with a focus on precision and safety.
